About Privacy...
Canada's Privacy laws are intended to ensure that businesses limit the
collection of personal information to that which is required to provide a
client with a service or a product. In Addition, the privacy laws require
that when a business has collected such information, it take the necessary
steps to safeguard that personal information.
Apex Investigation & Security Inc. is committed to providing its clients with
the best possible service and we understand that the relationship we enjoy
with you is one based on that. To maintain your trust, we take the issue of
protection and privacy of the information you provide to us very seriously.
Our Privacy Policy describes the manner and circumstances in which we collect,
use, disclose, safeguard, and dispose of personal information that our clients
provide to us.
You need to be aware that Apex has a policy prohibiting sharing client information
with anyone outside of the Apex family. The personal information may be used by Apex
to provide notification of any required emergency response agency within the context
of the monitoring services we provide for you and such other products or services
requested by you or to conduct client satisfaction surveys. In most cases, we shall
ask you to specifically consent, if we collect, use or disclose personal information.
By reason of your contract for services with us, your consent is implied for the purpose
of contacting emergency response agencies and others designated by you as a responder or
emergency contact. Additionally, we may obtain your credit report or information to assess
your application for our services or for additional products or services which may be of
interest to you or other special interest information updates from time to time.
If you do not wish us to use or disclose your information for the purpose of providing you
with information about products or services which may be of interest, please contact us at
the location noted at the top of this letter. Once we receive your notification please allow
us 30 days to update our records with your request. Subject to your legal and contractual
restrictions, we will note your request. If you have not notified us previously regarding
your preference and if you do not do so, we will consider that you have consented to our
continued use and disclosure of your information for these purposes. You may contact us at
any time to withdraw or change your consent. Please note that a withdrawal or change of consent
may affect our ability to provide you with products and/or services.

Our Privacy Policy
The nature of our business requires a relationship of trust with our clients.
In order to provide our clients with the right products and services with the
requisite level of service, it is necessary that we obtain information about our
clients and/or their businesses.
The information with which we are entrusted is sometimes of a personal nature.
Our clients have a right to expect that any personal information that they provide
to us or that we obtain from other sources will be kept in the strictest
confidence and that access to personal information will be restricted to those
having a legitimate need to review or use that information.

Security Inc. ("APEX") has dealt with this or her personal information, he or she

Personal Information: Personal information is information that identifies an
individual personally. Personal Information includes name, address, home telephone
number, marital status, work information, medical information in the case of personal
alarm monitoring services, directives for emergency response, including the names,
telephone numbers and addresses of third party responders and the like and other
information of a personal nature
The type of personal information APEX collects about an individual is dependent upon
the type of product or services that the individual requires from APEX. We will restrict
the personal information we collect from each client to the minimum required to provide
such products and services.
How We Collect Personal Information: We may obtain personal information directly from the
client and through applications, transactions, consumer reports or by other legitimate means.
How We Use Personal Information: We use personal information to make decisions regarding the
products and services clients purchase from APEX and to maintain records.
We will explain to an individual to what use his or her personal information will be put
before or when we collect such information. We ill restrict our use of the personal information
to the purposes identified by the individual.
Consent: Canada's privacy laws stipulate that an individual's consent is required prior to
or at the time APEX collects his or her personal information. Except for certain limited
exceptions defined in Canada's privacy laws, consent is also required prior to our disclosing
any personal information to a third party.
Consent may be written, oral or implied by an individual requesting products or services from
APEX and providing his or her personal information, or by an existing client who requests
further products or services , or one who continues to use our products and services without
objection after the receipt of this privacy policy.
If an individual refuses to consent to the collection, use or disclosure of his or her personal
information, APEX may be unable to provide the product or service requested.
Protection of Personal Information: APEX will take all reasonable precautions to protect the
information entrusted to us by our clients.
APEX uses a number of manual and electronic controls to protect personal information that has
been provided to us. These controls include restricted access to our premises, user authentication
encryption, firewall technology and the use of detection software.
APEX only allows access to an individual's personal information to those who need to use it in
their work. APEX's employees who have access to personal information are made aware of the
responsibility they have for protecting that personal information and are required to make proper
use of the manual and electronic controls available to them for that purpose. Our employees are
subject to disciplinary procedures for the unauthorized use or disclosure of an individual's
personal information.
Disclosure of Personal Information: Given the type of the products and services that APEX provides
in the normal course of business, it is sometimes necessary to provide an individual's personal
information to a third party, such as an emergency response agency or others designated by you as
emergency responders or emergency contacts, legal counsel, regulators, repairers, or administrators.
We will only disclose an individual's personal information with the individual's consent, except
where to do so would cause undue delay in providing requested services or where APEX is legally
required to disclose the information.
When it is necessary to provide an individual's personal information to a third party, APEX provides
only the information necessary for the third party to provide the service.
APEX advises each third party to whom it provides an individual's personal information that APEX
expects that it will comply with Canada's privacy laws and have the manual and/or electronic controls
in place to protect that personal information.
Retention of Personal Information: APEX will only retain an individual's personal information for as
long as it is necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected or as required by law.
Accessing your Personal Information: An individual has the right to access his or her personal
information subject to any legal restrictions. For example, if to allow access would reveal personal
information about a third party, then access may be limited or denied. If there are reasons why access
is denied, the individual will be advised of those reasons in writing.
When an individual demonstrates that any information held is inaccurate or incomplete, APEX will make
the appropriate changes to that information. Any concerns regarding information that APEX maintains
should be addressed to our Privacy Officer.
