Apex Investigation & Security Inc. is a corporation owned and operated by Gary and Darlere Boyer. Apex currently employs 19 office staff and 250 full and part-time employees.

In 1977, Gary Boyer launched the operation of Apex Investigation & Security Inc. in Thunder Bay and became the sole owner in 1979. By 1986, Apex employed over 100 people and in 1989, it was necessary to move to larger quarters and the current building located at 391 Oliver Road was purchased.

Gary’s role as Working Manager changed dramatically and the administrative staff doubled and middle managers were added. In 1991, Apex naturally diversified into the electronic field, providing full sales and support of guard control systems, card access systems, industrial and residential alarm systems, CCTV and much more.

July 1995 marked the opening of our own Alarm Monitoring Centre capable of monitoring anywhere in Canada. In June 1998, Apex entered the realm of the Internet, launching our website. In December 1999, Apex purchased the assets of Summit Security & Alarm Control Inc. and has since moved its Monitoring Station and Service Department to 945 Cobalt Crescent.

Apex is currently ranked the number one security firm in Northwestern Ontario.
